32 Hundred Lighting is one of Australia’s leading event production companies. Since 1988, the company has developed and maintained its position as innovators, providing cutting edge production for spectacular event presentations and permanent installations in Australia and the Asia-Pacific for the entertainment industry, corporations and both public and private events.
32 Hundred Lighting has been involved with Vivid Sydney since 2008. In that time, the company has earned two Guinness World Records™ for the World’s Largest Real-time Interactive Lighting Installation for their work Dreamscape in 2016 lighting the Harbour Bridge; and for Dress Circle, 2017 in which the Harbour Bridge, numerous buildings and the Cahill Expressway worked together. Previously 32 Hundred Lighting has conceived and implemented lighting installations on the Circular Quay dress circle buildings with Skyscraper Illuminati, Sentinels of the Seasons, and 2015’s interactive installation Paint the Town. 2018 saw their biggest installation yet with Skylark – incorporating the Harbour Bridge, various Circular Quay buildings, pillars of light on the Overseas Passenger Terminal (OPT) and super powered laser beams – Bradfield’s Beacon – on top of the Bridge reaching the outer limits of the eastern harbour. Highlights of numerous other installations include a 2014 homage to the Australian servicemen and women with a lighting of the Martin Place Cenotaph to represent theatres of war; creating River of Light at Chatswood 2015; and 2018’s installation of video artwork on the iconic Coca-Cola sign in Kings Cross.
For Vivid Sydney 2019 32 Hundred Lighting have again outdone themselves with City Sparkle. City Sparkle includes 15 giant Aquabeams on top of the Bridge along with ‘sparkle points’ of LED tubes illuminating the arch and road deck. Beams of light will also be situated atop Bennelong Apartments, the OPT and Cahill Expressway, with sparkle points on 18 separate building rooftops, while 13 building facades will be saturated with colour blocks. In the purpose-built Perspex ‘control room’ at East Circular Quay, there will be a newly created giant, 3D interactive tactile model (with full wheelchair access) of all the structures used in City Sparkle, through which visitors can create their own unique show of twinkling colours, lights and magical memories.
