Neon Dreams Terms and Conditions
Joystick Pty Ltd (ABN 68 613 108 937) (Joystick) are the producers of this pop-up roller rink (Event) in collaboration with Destination NSW for Vivid Sydney 2025 (DNSW). As the responsible party for the Event activities, site operations, and general conduct at the Event location (Venue), and in collaboration with the Roller Rink provider, Malt Shop Rollers (ABN: 54 102 332 977) (MSR) who provide the skating arena operations and equipment (Arena), Joystick and MSR requires that all visitors (you/your) comply with the full Terms and Conditions below. By entering the venue all visitors agree to these Terms.
Skating activities can be inherently dangerous and can lead to serious accidents. MSR recommends that all patrons participating in this Event have a level of competency in skating prior to undertaking skating activities within the Roller Rink. Should you choose to participate in skating activities you do so at your own risk.
Refusal of Entry
1. For the comfort, safety and enjoyment of all patrons, Joystick & MSR reserve the right to refuse entry to the Venue of a person or item in the following circumstances:
a) appropriate entry protocols have not been followed or other checks intended to ensure public safety;
b) persons are, or are considered on reasonable grounds by MSR or their respective agents or contractors, to be intoxicated, under the influence of drugs or disorderly or the presence of the person would be detrimental to, or compromise safety at, the Event;
c) items which have the potential to cause injury or public nuisance, including Restricted and Prohibited items listed in clause 6; and/or
d) due to adverse weather, dangerous situations or any other causes that may affect the safety of patrons.
General Conditions of Entry
2. The following applies as a condition of entry into the Venue:
a) Joystick & MSR reserve the right to inspect and search bags brought into or out of the Venue;
b) Persons under 16 years of age must be, at all times, be under the direct supervision of a parent or legal guardian who has complied with all entry requirements (including being a ticket holder whether as a skater or non-skater) and be contactable during the Event;
c) Any child 5 years or younger must be under the direct supervision of a parent or legal guardian who has complied with all entry requirements (including being a ticket holder with a non-skating ticket). The parent or legal guardian must accompany the child onto the rink on foot and supervise them at all times;.
d) You must not enter any of the Venue’s restricted areas, such as back of house, performance areas, or any other area not accessible by the public;
e) Illegal substances must not be brought into the Venue;
f) Alcoholic beverages must not be brought into the Venue;
g) Patrons are not permitted to bring food or beverages into the Venue.
h) Smoking (including the use of electronic cigarettes or similar devices) within the fenced area is prohibited;
i) Unauthorised soliciting, collections and customer surveying is not permitted.
Ticketing
4. The following applies as a condition of ticketing if applicable for entry into the Venue:
a) A ticket generated from the Universe ticketing site in collaboration with Vivid Sydney 2025 is proof of purchase for the Event and must be presented at the time of admission;
b) Tickets are non-transferable and only one entry to the Venue is valid per ticket purchased or assigned;
c) Tickets are not to be replicated for the purpose of falsifying entry;
d) Please choose carefully as there are no refunds;
e) Tickets may be valid as a tax invoice or receipt in the case of registrations or other event payments;
f) Tickets are created and managed using the Universe ticketing platform in collaboration with Vivid Sydney 2025 and are subject to the Terms and Conditions of this ticketing company;
g) Proof of age or concession card may be requested;
h) Latecomers may have to wait for entry. There will be no refunds. Doors open 10 minutes before the Event session time;
i) Tickets cannot be on-sold by any means at a price greater than the purchased price of the ticket. Scalped tickets may be cancelled, and the ticket holder denied entry;
j) If the event is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, including any adverse weather event or dangerous situation that forces a closure of the Event or Venue, ticket holders may request a full refund or alternatively a transfer of ticket session. Transfer of sessions are subject to DNSW’s discretion and availability of space and time in the Venue for later sessions;
k) Any data collected for marketing purposes from this event will be strictly in accordance with the Privacy Act.
l) All personal information collected about you as a result of your transaction with DNSW and/or Universe will be stored and managed in accordance with the Universe Privacy Policy and the Vivid Sydney Privacy Policy to the extent that each applies.
Eviction from Venue
5. Joystick & MSR reserve the right to eject from the Venue any patron who in its sole opinion:
a) breaches any General Condition of Entry;
b) does not, upon request demonstrate compliance with entry requirements;
c) is in breach of any of these Terms;
d) unreasonably obstructs the participation or viewing of other patrons;
e) may be a source of danger, nuisance, or annoyance or otherwise give rise to concerns in relation to the safety and security arrangements for the Event, including excessive noise, use of foul, obscene, abusive or racist language or gestures, the wearing or other display of commercial, political or offensive signage or logos, or the throwing of any object that might injure or cause damage to people or property;
f) fails to comply with instructions from Joystick or MSR staff, local laws officer, police, or security officers;
g) is in possession of any item listed on the Restricted and Prohibited listed in clause 6;
h) is suspected of committing, or being likely to commit, or having committed a criminal offense within the Venue;
i) enters any area at the Venue which he/she is or may be prohibited from entering;
j) damages, interferes with or tampers with any Joystick, MSR or Venue property; or
k) refuses to comply with requests made by Joystick or MSR.
Restricted and Prohibited Items
6. The following restricted and prohibited items are not permitted into a Venue:
a) Illegal substances, including controlled, dangerous or illicit drugs
b) Bicycles, scooters or skateboards (except if permitted by MSR Rink Manager)
c) Laser pointers, spotlights, flares or fireworks
d) Weapons, or resemblance of weapons, including knives, firearms, blunt offensive objects, batons and those with sharp ends
e) Projectile items, including balls, frisbees, rackets or similar objects
f) Political or offensive materials
g) Animals (assistance dogs permitted; when working)
h) Drones or loud hailers without the prior consent of Joystick or MSR
i) Other items as determined by Joystick and /or MSR that may cause injury, public nuisance or safety concerns.
Patron Safety and Behaviour
7. You must comply with the directions or announcements from Joystick and/or MSR and any other requirements relating to access and safety given by MSR or authorities.
8. You must maintain safe, prudent and respectful behaviour at all times. A patron is responsible for their own conduct whilst in the Venue for the Event and must pay for the cost of repair of any damage caused to a Venue as a result of their conduct. In the case of minors, this responsibility carries over to parent / guardians of said minors.
9. You must not enter the designated performance areas of a Venue at any time and, if you do, you may be fined, expelled from that Venue and subject to legal action.
10. You must remain appropriately clothed while in the Venue.
11. The following actions are restricted in the Venue:
a) Impeding other visitors' view of the event with items that may block visibility or hinder enjoyment, including flags, banners or flags, musical instruments, drums, whistles, air horns, or other noise makers;
b) Having animals of any kind (other that certified assistance animals) is not permitted;
c) Other actions as determined by Joystick or MSR that may cause injury, public nuisance or safety concerns
Liability and Risk
12. Patrons wishing to bring personal items into Venue do so at their own risk. Joystick and / or MSR will not be held responsible for any damage to, loss, or theft of your personal property.
13. Joystick does not guarantee that you will have an uninterrupted and/or uninhibited view of the Event from your location within the Venue, nor does Joystick give any warranty as to the quality, content or duration of the Event.
14. There are risks and inherent dangers associated with attending Events and associated activities that may result in patrons being injured. To the extent permitted by law, you agree not to bring any claim or proceeding against MSR nor event producers (Joystick / DNSW) for any damage, loss, injury or liability you may suffer in accessing the Venue or attending the Event.
15. Patrons attending the Event do so at their own risk and assume all risk and liability for personal injury or death, including that of any minors in their care. Event Producers (Joystick / DNSW) and MSR bears no liability for any personal injuries, health problems or death sustained at or after the Event, including directly or indirectly resulting from any existing medical condition. Joystick and MSR takes no responsibility for any hearing damage or loss. Use earplugs if necessary.
16. Under the Civil Liability Act 2002 (NSW); MSR cannot be held liable for any personal injury or damage suffered whilst undertaking this dangerous recreational activity.
Photographs and Broadcasts
17. Photographs taken within the Venue are encouraged but may be used only for private non-commercial purposes. For the avoidance of doubt, commercial purposes include licensing, merchandising, memorabilia, or marketing.
18. If you make, reproduce or use any recording, data or image prohibited under this condition, you must assign in writing all copyright and intellectual property rights to MSR or its nominee.
19. With or without your knowledge, you may be recorded on CCTV or other forms of surveillance in, or in the vicinity of, the Venue, filmed or photographed individually or in a crowd scene by any person and your voice recorded at an Event (or any one or more of these things). You irrevocably and unconditionally consent in perpetuity and without compensation to the recording, filming photographing, transmission and use (or any one or more of these things) by MSR, Joystick, DNSW and/or their nominees (or either) of your likeness and voice (or either) by any means (including, audio and visual recordings by television cameras and photographers) throughout the world, to the fullest extent possible, including for official broadcast and promotional purposes (or either).
20. Patrons who do not wish to be photographed may be identified with an identifying band. Whilst we request all patrons to adhere to this request, activities take place in public spaces and Joystick and MSR and its agents cannot be held liable for breach of this consent or lack thereof.
Event Changes and Cancellation
21. Joystick may add, withdraw, reschedule or substitute performance elements (as applicable) or vary advertised programmes, times, venue, seating arrangement or audience capacity without any compensation to you.
22. The Event may be postponed, cancelled, interrupted or stopped due to adverse weather, dangerous situations or any other causes. If this occurs, clause 4(j) above applies.
23. Joystick & MSR is not liable to you for any loss or damage you suffer as a result of the Event being cancelled, postponed or changed. Joystick & MSR disclaims the existence of any common law duty of care to you.
24. DNSW and Joystick & MSR (the producers) respect the privacy of the individuals on whom the Producers collect, uses and discloses personal information. The personal information that the producers collect will be in accordance with practices as reasonably required for the proper and efficient staging of the Event and to give effect to any of its rights under these Terms.

General
26. Joystick & MSR may choose not to enforce a clause of these Terms in some cases in its absolute discretion without affecting its right to enforce that term in other cases.
27. These Terms are governed by the law applicable in New South Wales and each party irrevocably and unconditionally submits to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
Amendments
28. Joystick & MSR reserves the right to update, modify or change these Terms from time to time. Any changes will be available on the Universe ticketing website or by emailing a request to hello@maltshoprollers.com.
