On the strength of just a few tracks and a run of buzzy live shows, Sydney-based singer, songwriter and neo-soul artist Yasmina Sadiki has found herself among the city’s most in-demand musicians. With anticipation at a fever pitch for her live performances, Sadiki is set to take her biggest stage yet, playing the Sydney Opera House as part of Vivid LIVE.
Raised in Canterbury with a passion for performing from a young age, Sadiki developed her formidable talents during high school, and early in her career was featured on the track ‘What U Need’ with HAAN and superstar The Kid Laroi. On tracks like ‘Can't Get Through’ and ‘Bleed Out’, Sadiki drew inspiration from hip-hop’s freestyling and the seductively cinematic grooves of jazz, and in concert she’s known for her spirit of improvisation, stunning vocal runs and hypnotic, immersive soundscapes. In 2023 she was nominated for Best Live Act at the FBI SMAC Awards and in 2024 toured in support of psych-jazz legend Asha Puthli.
