Sydney’s own SAHXL is charting a course for superstardom. In no time at all, the 21-year-old Indo-Fijian Australian singer and songwriter has emerged from Western Sydney’s musical hot-bed to take the scene by storm, releasing two breakthrough EP’s, collaborating with Kaash Paige and becoming the first local artist to sign directly with legendary hip-hop label Def Jam records.
A captivating vocalist with dynamic storytelling ability, SAHXL began making music in his bedroom as an adolescent, recording songs as a form of emotional release. After posting his music to SoundCloud, he caught the attention of local producers and released his 2021 single C4 produced by HAAN (JUICE WLRD, The Kid LAROI, Trippie Redd) & Khaled Rohaim (Rihanna, Polo G, The Kid LAROI, Doja Cat). Showcasing his distinctive trap soul and heartfelt emotional range, SAHXL caught the attention of Def Jam and went on to release 2023’s EP Come Thru and his breakthrough 2024 EP Nevermind featuring the audience favourite, Negligent. A debut sold-out tour and a buzzy showcase at last year’s SXSW Sydney soon followed.
