Following the success of 2018’s Vivid Music debut, Inner Westival returns to showcase the current climate of creative excellence found in Sydney’s inner western suburbs. Last year’s Inner Westival featured an exciting lineup of emerging and established acts, and the second iteration will be no different.
The inner west has always been a melting pot for hot talent, and 2019 sees the area’s vibrant culture further bubble into a hub of artistic expression. This year’s Inner Westival features a broad range of artists varying in exposure and genre, including nine piece Afro-fusion powerhouse Bakoomba, hip hop/funk crew Motherfunk, electro-pop queen Goldheist, multidisciplinary artist and activist Ezekiel Ox, psych-rock heavyweights Wo Fat and more.
The program runs Thursday to Saturday nights at The Vanguard. The collaboration between the venue and Vivid Sydney has afforded the opportunity to engage top-shelf talent while keeping door prices accessible. It’s well worth the trek from the CBD to catch this lineup, which is ripe with both fresh artists and mainstayers on the Sydney music scene.
