Event Details

They say when we boil down the world’s vast cauldron of myths, legends and literature, seven quintessential stories emerge; they are the bones of our human experience.

Seven genre-defying Australian composers weave together a musical reimagining of these stories, including the indie scene’s Amanda Brown (The Go-Betweens), Jodi Phillis (The Clouds) and more, performed by Sydney’s award-winning chamber music group, Ensemble Offspring.

Combining music, storytelling and film, Seven Stories is a powerful world premiere that is at once visceral, engaging, funny and otherworldly.

Music by Amanda Brown, Kyls Burtland, Jodi Phillis, Bree van Reyk, Jane Sheldon, Sally Whitwell and Caitlin Yeo. Visuals by Sarah-Jane Woulahan. Text by Hilary Bell. Performed by Ensemble Offspring.

Presented by City Recital Hall, Ensemble Offspring and Creative Music Fund
