Maina Doe is the sound of Sydney’s booming young RnB scene, a gifted multi-hyphenate fusing futuristic hip-hop, pop, jazz and neo-soul to create the world-conquering music of tomorrow. With a brand new single, 'WYA', dropping on the freshly-minted Valve Sounds label, the emerging star is set to make her in-person solo Sydney Opera House debut, transforming the Utzon Room for one night as part of Vivid LIVE.

A sultry vocalist with taste for the avant garde and an evocative sense of melody, the Sydney-based Doe brings her Somali and Indonesian heritage to her love of old school jams and digital-age funk, crafting a sound that is at once warm, familiar and distinctly her own. Her multi-dimensional delivery and fresh perspective have made her one of the most sought-after performers on the local RnB and hip-hop scene. Doe’s debut single, 'Delusion', met with instant acclaim, while her 2020 follow-up, 'Unwritten Laws', found her collaborating with hip-hop talent Genesis Owusu, and 2022 saw her teaming up with BLESSED and unleashing her infectiously sexy hit, 'Primal Design'. 

As part of the Sydney Opera House’s Liminal series in 2021, Doe delivered a sensational performance recorded in the Joan Sutherland Theatre, and returned to the venue last year for a buoyant set as the support for hip-hop hero Tkay Maidza.
