Join Lolo Lovina ('Red Beer) for an intoxicating brew of Balkan mayhem! Fronted by Hungarian Romani-Gypsy singer Sarah Bedak, this music fusion reflects the cosmopolitan identity of an artist who grew up with three native cultures. Expect traditional Gypsy tunes alternating with Lolo originals, and arrangements that are solid, tight, classy and brassy.
Having played across the world from Sydney Opera House to Cuba’s Havana World Music Festival, Serbia’s Guca Festival, across East and West Europe to SXSW, Austin Texas and beyond, this is a band at the height of their world-music powers. To say you’re in for a passionate and unique experience is the understatement of the decade.
Dance first, ask questions later!
“Yes, it is gypsy, but there are also dollops of Spanish flamenco, Russian, Greek – indeed the music of anyone who likes to party” – Glenn A Baker
“…two especial strengths glue the components into a cohesive whole. One is the sheer fun factor: you hear the players enjoying themselves as tangibly as you hear the sound of the drums, saxophone or accordion. The other is Sarah Bedak's voice, which never loses its identity, despite being malleable enough to be breathy, teasing, seductive or vigorous.” – Sydney Morning Herald
