Heaps Gay X Vivid Festival: The Kaleidoscope
Lights, Camera, Refraction!
Heaps Gay and Vivid Sydney are back for their third collaboration, The Kaleidoscope, a swirling, hallucinatory journey at Marrickville’s Factory Theatre. Featuring an amorphous cloud of spectacular talent across three stages, bringing you live music, DJs, performance, visual art and more.
Catch live sets from bouncy Sydney darlings Holy Balm, Melbourne sample-queen Alice Ivy and Brisbane rapper and legend Miss Blanks, before diving fist-first into the House of Air with Brendan Maclean. Catch DJ sets from interstate heroes Sezzo Snot, SIMONA and Sullivan, as well as a host of Heaps Gay regulars like Estée Louder, The Smuts, Yung Brujo and Levins.
Finally, fresh off the shelves of his pop-up at Binge Fest, we welcome the legendary Hazem from Redfern Convenience Store (The worlds GREATEST convenience store) to the Heaps Gay main stage for a world-exclusive powerset of hits and singalongs, selected by him and his loyal customers.
In the art department, we’re so excited to welcome the incomparable Koco Carey to the Heaps Gay mainstage. Koco has been making a name for herself in the performance world after gaining notoriety with her dance troupe Slé. Human firecracker and performance-maker Stelly G will set the place alight, and all the way from Melbourne we welcome Jolene making the journey north for her Sydney debut.
Catch spot-shows and roving magic from The Dirty Ibis by Deep Sea Astronauts, Marlena Dali, Medusa Blunt and more, before witnessing La Grande Finale with local shapeshifter Canoe and friends. As always there will be projections, art and installations galore, stay tuned for all the updates.
$1 from every ticket will be donated to Redfern art space 107 Projects, to further develop creativity and the production of art in our local area.
Come on in and enter the Kaleidoscope.
