The Flying Nun X|Celerate Program

The Flying Nun is a showcase of the outcomes from performing arts residencies with Brand X at the East Sydney Community and Arts Centre. By its very nature, the program celebrates fringe, alternative and contemporary counter-culture, contributing multi-disciplinary creative risk-taking to the East Sydney Creative Precinct. Come and be the first audiences to witness new work fresh out of the rehearsal room and by doing so, support independent artists with income and feedback to propel the work onto more stages across Sydney.

Since 2005, Brand X has been in the business of making space for artists. By re-purposing underutilised properties in Sydney, artists have a place to practice their craft. Brand X is a non-profit arts organisation run by Artists for Artists that works with property developers, landlords and local governments to transform their empty spaces into cultural places. This way, artists can contribute, flourish and be sustainable in the community for the advancement of a healthy, connected and creative society.
