On June 2nd, Art As Catharsis presents Flow: An Audiovisual Experience: a night of hypnotic, immersive audio-visual collaborations by local musicians and visual artists, including performances by Sophie Hutchings (neoclassical piano), Eishan (Persian classical/fusion), Turtle Skull (psychedelic rock) and Hashshashin (Middle Eastern drone) across two stages.

Three separate performances in the rooftop garden:

Patchwork Dreaming is a multimedia performance for an ensemble of musicians, dancers, electronics and a bush poet (E. Mongrel), which explores the complexities of a local cultural heritage and blackness in contemporary Australia. Narratives of identity and rediscovery are the crux of this ‘patchwork’ of Australia’s multicultural experience.

The Sound of Spaces offers an immersive performance for a blindfolded audience. Featuring flute, melodica, voice, percussion and electro-acoustic soundscapes, the performance seeks to illuminate our understanding and experience of familiar and reimagined sound worlds.

Intangible Instruments features interactive works by performers, designers and researchers developing new instruments and exploring intersections between voice and movement. Expect the unexpected with innovations in performer-led embodied interface design, augmented vocal applications, wearables and wireless interaction.
