Ama

Ama is a 7-minute meditative journey across Sydney’s hidden coves, where land and ocean meet. Shot in infra-red, the camera flies high above tree canopies and dives into mysterious caves, nooks and crannies. Set to the standout titular ambient track on local producer Phondupe's debut album Onykia (2021), Ama is a psychedelic dreamscape, where familiar sites transform Vivid House into an uncanny, enchanting world. It's time to take a trip.

Australian Oceans

Dive deep underwater with award-winning photographer Craig Parry and experience the magic of Australia’s oceans. Come on a journey through a decade of Craig’s adventures capturing seals, turtles, dolphins and even Migaloo, the legendary albino Humpback whale. Surrounding us with four walls of awe-inspiring footage and the ocean floor projected below our feet, Australian Oceans allows us to dive deep, explore our beautiful waters, and get up close with spectacular sea creatures.

Infinity

Escape from Sydney’s winter and lose yourself in this immersive 360° experience across a hyper-real world inspired by Australia’s many natural wonders. Come on a magical, dream-like journey soaring across our snow-capped mountains, verdant valleys and sublime sunsets before diving deep to our ocean floor, visiting our native marine life, birds and more along the way. You might want to stay forever.

Invincible Corals

For all their fragility, coral reefs are powerful, too: over time, they can even subsume something as large as the USAT Liberty shipwreck off the coast of Bali, growing all over the structure and making it their home. Inspired by a dive through the famed shipwreck, the artist created digital corals that can self-generate and grow upon any surface they’re projected onto, adapting to their new home - in this case, Vivid House. Engulfing the four walls, these strange, beautiful structures loom large, a testament to their secret might and tenacity even amid warming waters.

Wildlife & Wild Places

Join Vivid Sydney’s Charity Partner WWF-Australia on an epic journey across Australia and beyond. Get up-close with koalas in our towering eucalypt forests, snorkel with green sea turtles among the vibrant corals of the Great Barrier Reef, and take a bird’s-eye view of whales feeding in the frozen waters of Antarctica.

Inspired by this year’s festival theme ‘Naturally’, Wildlife & Wild Places highlights these spectacular sites and iconic animals that are, unfortunately, under threat of being lost forever. But WWF is committed to helping Australian wildlife thrive for generations to come. WWF-Australia is working to rehabilitate, repopulate and restore wildlife and habitats, and safeguard Australia against the impacts of a changing climate. Money donated throughout Vivid Sydney will go towards regenerating Australian nature.
