Iced Vovo inspired frocks, a multi-coloured crochet collage reminiscent of your nan and a neon-underwater reef burst to life across the façade of Customs House.
Enter this kaleidoscope of colour, couture and pure fantasy as iconic Australian fashion duo Romance Was Born makes its Vivid Sydney debut with House of Romance: Dreams Collide-a vibrant celebration of their 20th anniversary.
For two decades, Romance Was Born has redefined Australian fashion through their wild imagination, artistic collaborations and a fearless love of unique design. Now, for the first time, their magical work bursts beyond the runway, transforming Customs House into a universe of whimsy and fanciful fashion.
Animated by Australia’s newest immersive studio, Supergiant, the projection invites you to journey through a fabulous tribute to the duo's creative output. Expect a spectacular collision of style and playfulness as iconic looks from their most celebrated collections and collaborations with leading Australian designers like Ken Done, Del Kathryn Barton, Jenny Kee, Pip & Pop, Rebecca Baumann, Kate Rohde, Paul Yore and Jonathan Zawada come to life. All reimagined in an explosion of digital artistry and bold colour.
The entire experience is set to a bespoke soundtrack composed by Heckler Sound, creating an all-sensory immersion into the heart of Romance Was Born.
House of Romance: Dreams Collide is a love letter to two decades of fearless creativity. Lose yourself in a dreamscape where art, fashion and fantasy collide.
