Step into a multi-sensory ethereal environment made up of individual but digitally interlinked columns of ever-evolving patterns of light and sound. This innovative and interactive installation brings you together with fellow festival-goers in a shared moment of spontaneous music making.
Music is the one universal communication tool that requires no language. By joining in this impromptu jam session, we create and experience equality – together – with whoever else is there.
Shaped through audience participation, Halo invites us to step into a space where we are free to play without fear of judgement or error. It offers an escape from the mundane, and an opportunity to reconnect with the curiosities we enjoyed as children.
"The work offers creative expression to people who would not normally think of themselves as 'creative'… There is no need for instruction, there is no need for any previous training of knowledge, there are no age limits. It is free and it is beautiful. It can bring all kinds of people together, and it does.” – Light Artist Gemma Davis
