Julie Paterson

Julie is an artist and designer. She owns the fabric company Cloth, has written a book about her creative process and a manifesto to live her life by. She runs creative workshops and believes the secret to a happy life is to embrace the imperfect and be kind to ourselves.

Eva is a Sydney based somatic psychotherapist since 2000. Her pursuit in integrated bodymind approaches support her passion in collaborating creatively with people opening towards transforming suffering and exploring their unique embodiment. Eva brings compassion and joy to empowering people to meet life’s challenges with presence and acceptance openheartedly.

Vanessa Lansdown

Vanessa Lansdown

Vanessa is a psychologist and mindfulness facilitator. She has delivered mindfulness workshops engaging art with AGNSW; and music and architecture for the Sydney Opera House. She is trained in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction program and Mindful Schools. Vanessa works with Smiling Mind training teachers in mindfulness based social emotional learning.

  • Companion Card Acceptance - The Companion Card is for people with a significant permanent disability, who always need a companion to provide attendant care type support in order to participate at most available community venues and activities.
  • Wheelchair Accessible - Access to the venue is suitable for wheelchairs (toilets, ramps/lifts etc.) and designated wheelchair spaces are available.

Event Details

Join experiential sensing labs at the MCA, Botanic Gardens and iconic architectural spaces that will change your perceptions to amplify your creativity and imagination. In a world that always pushes the accelerator, this program gives you the power to pause and offers new insights and ways of seeing.

Each lab engages with either art, nature or architecture by drawing on centuries old wisdom and sharing new techniques in contemplative and mindful exploration. Learn to apply present-moment awareness to increase the depth and intimacy of your sensory experience.

Choose any mix of the following labs (Please note: each session has a maximum of 30 participants):

• NATURE: Explore the senses to intensify your connection to nature while nurturing body and soul.

• ARCHITECTURE: Build spatial awareness and deepen your appreciation of the artistry of the built environment.

• ART: Develop creative mindfulness through drawing nature with renowned designer artist Julie Paterson.
