Learn basic dye processes and techniques which have been passed down for generations, using common kitchen equipment.

For thousands of years plants have been used to dye fibre and fabric. A beautiful palette of coloured dye can be achieved without the need for harmful chemicals. Led by artist and educator Dr Fabri Blacklock, you will gain an insight on the revival of this Aboriginal women’s artistic practice, and the importance of sharing this process today.

Presented as a part of Conversation Starters 2019: Temperature Rising, a weekend of art, discussion and action, at the Museum of Contemporary Art.
