Jesse Kanda is a director of a digital age. Coming from a background in 3D design and animation, he often incorporates new technology in his films to create unique hyper-real pictures. Following online success with his short film Dutch Wife (later picked up by Channel 4), he quickly garnered attention within the fashion and music industries. Since then, Jesse has worked on projects and collaborations with Comme des Garçons, Martin Margiela, XL Recordings, Kanye West, FKA twigs and SSENSE.

An excerpt of his film TRAUMA, part of an ongoing project with frequent collaborator Arca, was exhibited at MoMA PS1 in 2013 to rave reviews by New York’s finest. The film features Jesse’s mesmerising visual style and has been shown in its entirety in various galleries throughout the world since it’s premiere. Jesse continues to take the helm for much of Arca’s content, including the recent music videos for the artist’s tracks 'Anoche', 'Reverie', 'Arisen My Senses', and 'Desafío'.

Most recently, Jesse collaborated with Björk on 'Mouth Mantra', a music video and 360-degree experience shot from inside the singer’s mouth.

Jesse’s accolades include a Grammy nomination for his album artwork for FKA twigs’ breakthrough album LP1.

Tyson Koh is the Producer/Programmer of the ABC’s long-running music program Rage. He also presents the weekly show Loose Joints on Sydney’s FBi Radio, which he has hosted since 2008. Starting off his career in music as a DJ, Tyson has performed at events including the Big Day Out, Playground Weekender, Harvest, Parklife and the Biennale of Sydney.

This led to music programming for major events like Sydney Festival, the Commonwealth Games in Delhi and Darling Harbour’s NYE 2015 fireworks display. Tyson’s current role at Rage involves promoting the work of local talent, programming classic content, selecting and filming the guest programmers and overseeing the show’s presence online.

Ash Carroll is music programmer for the MTV Music channels across both Australia and New Zealand.

She is responsible for curating music video playlists, including ‘Upload’ — a chance for local artists to get their videos on the TV. After working stints in London and New York, Ash has previously worked for ABC TV and Warner Music Australia.

As an avid music fan, she spent seven years volunteering in community and commercial radio, including hosting shows on FBi Radio and Bondi FM. On Ash’s playlist you’ll find The National, Gang Of Youths, Mallrat and Jack River among many others. A big supporter of local bands and artists, you’ll find her out watching gigs around Sydney most nights of the week!

Nash Edgerton is an Australian film director and stuntman, and a principal member of the movie-making collective Blue-Tongue Films. Edgerton was born in Blacktown, New South Wales and grew up in Dural, the son of Marianne, a homemaker, and Michael Edgerton, a solicitor/property developer. His brother is actor Joel Edgerton. As a stuntman, he has worked on such films as The Matrix trilogy, The Thin Red Line, Superman Returns, and, most notably, Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones and Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith, as the stunt double for Ewan McGregor, who played Obi-Wan Kenobi. He has directed four music videos for Bob Dylan ("Beyond Here Lies Nothin'", "Must Be Santa", "Duquesne Whistle", and "The Night We Called It A Day").

Lisa has 25 years’ experience in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors across industries including music, tourism, events, health, film and the arts. She is a director of the Adelaide Fringe Festival and the Australian Music Industry Network (AMIN). Lisa is chair of the SA Music Industry Council, and a member of the UNESCO Adelaide City of Music Executive Committee. She holds a Bachelor of
Economics (Accounting) and a Graduate Diploma in Management (Arts) and is the general manager of Music SA, which champions original contemporary South Australian music and presents the Umbrella: Winter City Sounds live music festival and the SA Music Awards. Lisa is currently producing the short film Aftershock.

One of Australia’s most prolific director/cinematographers with a career that spans over 350 music-videos, MTV Awards, along with countless commercials and documentaries, Anthony has a feel for dramatic, emotional storytelling and his depth of experience as a cinematographer has honed his eye for action. Known for his work ethic, focus on detail and disciplined approach to logistics, Anthony has rapidly become one of the most sought after directors working today.

With training from institutions such as the ABC and AFTRS (Australian Film, Television & Radio School), Anthony has a lifelong involvement in all areas of film making including documentary production along with numerous short films and has written several feature film projects. Some of the more recent artists Anthony has worked with are Human Nature, Phrase, Tina Arena, David Hasselhoff, Casey Donovan, Guy Sebastian, Chris Lilley, The Veronicas and Delta Goodrem.

Over the past decade, Mclean has become known for his personal approach to imagery, characterised by a distinct, filmic style. With a focus on the music industry, Mclean has worked closely with artists such as Sarah Blasko, Peter Garrett, Bernard Fanning, Daniel Johns and Kirin J Callinan. Currently represented by Black Eye Gallery, Mclean also produces fine art photography, publishes photo books and exhibits work.

Greg Carey is the founder and director of Grow Yourself Up, a music company based out of Redfern, Australia.

The company has three divisions: Management, Label & Licensing/Sync. As head of artist management, he oversees the careers of great Australian bands, The Rubens, Urthboy and Saskwatch.

The label division runs through reputable online distribution company The Orchard and currently has a handful of releases including Saskwatch and Wade Jackson. Greg is also currently the co-chair of the Association of Artist Managers (AAM) and very enthusiastic about helping emerging managers find their way through artist management.

Of note is Chris’ work on the ‘Men at Work/Kookaburra Case’; his work with 5SOS, Alison Wonderland, Hayden James, WHATSONOT and Ben Gillies; his ongoing assistance provided to a number of Australia’s leading creative & talent agencies and his involvement with the Telstra Road to Discovery. As Australia's premier music video event, CLIPPED showcases high calibre work by talented Australian and New Zealand filmmakers in a prestigious music video awards competition. This year, CLIPPED pioneers a unique event format that includes an exciting curated interactive music video exhibition, Giordi VR Music Experience, exclusive music video premieres, Rage’s Wild One Screening, 10 Years of Severed Heads Videos and much more.

CLIPPED also features industry discussion panels with a diverse line-up of local and international guest speakers including Jesse Kanda (Bjork, FKA Twigs).

The Rubens VR Music Experience

The Rubens are premiering an immersive VR experience demonstrating the most progressive form of music video. With the help of a specialty headset, participants enter a virtual playground they can see, hear and dance along with The Rubens. Incentivised to interact with various elements of the scene, users experience 3D visuals and animations that are colourful, vivid, fun and entertainingly out of this world. Each user’s experience is different; and once you leave the VR world with The Rubens, an individual recording of their experience can be shared through social media - showing off their very own personalised music clip.
