The Vivid Sydney Drone Show Love Is In The Air takes place on the following dates from 9.10-9.20pm (subject to weather conditions):
- Saturday 8 June
- Sunday 9 June
- Saturday 15 June
We are expecting large crowds for the upcoming Vivid Sydney drone shows. Plan ahead with the below travel and safety advice.
Security
There will be increased security presence on the dates of the drone shows. This will include a bag check in operation from 3pm at the main entry to Sydney Opera House, the exit from the Sydney Opera House (Wilson) Car Park and the gates of the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney.
Travel
With road closures and parking restrictions in place each night, visitors are encouraged to leave the car at home and plan your trip by public transport instead. Please take note of the following service changes during the Vivid Sydney drone show.
Roads
As well as the planned Vivid Sydney Road Closures, Lower Macquarie St will be temporarily closed for approximately 45 minutes until the Drone Show has finished and crowds have cleared.
Trains
If travelling by train, services will not drop off passengers at Circular Quay from 6pm until 11pm. We recommend arriving and departing from Wynyard, St James and Martin Place, and continue on foot to the harbour.
Service changes during Drone Shows
Circular Quay Station: During the drone show, Platform 2 at Circular Quay station will be closed between 8.30pm and 9.25pm. Trains will only depart from Platform 1 at Circular Quay during this time, you may need to change trains at Central to continue your journey.
Be aware there is no view of the drone show from Platform 1, exit the station to see the drones from Circular Quay eastern or western promenades.
Light Rail
If travelling by Light Rail, we recommend catching the L2 and L3 light rail services to Town Hall and continue on foot to the harbour.
Service changes
From 5pm to 1am L2 and L3 light rail services will not run between Town Hall and Circular Quay for pedestrian safety. Continue on foot from Town Hall towards the harbour.
