Having written and produced over 100 #1 chart hits since The Kennel’s inception in Sweden eight years ago, the independent music publishing, production and management company have launched an affiliate operation in Australia and are throwing a party to celebrate and showcase!
On Wednesday June 7th, The Kennel join the Oxford Art Factory official Vivid Sydney program by teaming up with local visual legends yeahsure. to exhibit some of the best emerging Australian music and art for one night only. Purchase tickets to Waves here.
The Kennel launched their Australian operation in March with the release of new music from Tom Jay Williams. With the backing of partners such as Spotify and The Kennel's international production power, his debut single "Closure" has received over 1.2 million streams in a matter of weeks and attracted international attention, including a worldwide radio debut on BBC Radio1. With Williams enjoying ongoing success, The Kennel felt it appropriate to shine some light on the rest of the exciting new roster.
Some highlights of Waves: a showcase of music and art include:
After a two-year hiatus following their grueling debut album schedule, Melbourne's acclaimed Gold Fields are treating Sydney to a one-off headline show; something they haven't done since they sold out the Newtown Social Club last year. The band are preparing the finishing touches on a brand-new album, and this show marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter in their journey with the band expected to showcase the new material live for the first time.
Sydney's most in demand drummer/producer/dj/remixer/legend, Commandeur, will also be gracing the stage with his brand new live show. Having recently toured behind the kit with Pnau, TK Maidza and Panama, he debuted his own show to a heaving sold-out Metro theatre earlier this month in support of band buddies Pnau. This show will coincide with the release of a new single for Commandeur.
Global citizen and stunning singer-songwriter Hazlett, returns from songwriting sessions in Los Angeles, and joins the Waves bill following his recent tour with Little Birdy's Katy Steele. Currently supporting his debut EP "Honey, Where Is My Home", the first release of an EP trilogy slated for 2017.
Australian/Swedish duo Peta & The Wolves fly in directly from a run of shows in Stockholm and London to perform their first Australian show. The show follows their recent feature on the Thundamentals "Think About It" single and their own debut cut, "Equal Measure".
After recently celebrating 7 million streams on their single 'Empty Streets', Sydney pop masters MOZA highlight the dynamic and diverse selection of new musical talent on display for this one-night-only affair; but it won't end there with several special guests confirmed to join the performance across the night.
If you've been to anything deemed seriously cool in the past year, chances are yeahsure. were covering it. Recently celebrating their first birthday yeahsure. already boast a resume featuring artists such as Tove Lo, R F S, Gang of Youths and Alessia Cara, with brands like Adidas and basically every touring festival in Australia lining up to collaborate. For one night only yeahsure. will be exhibiting a collection of their most vibrant work yet, digging deep into the archive crates to put forward some of their favorite collections, whilst also showcasing brand new works created exclusively for the Waves of Vivid.
