Her music is influenced by artists such as Tune-Yards and St Vincent with a huge nod to 80’s heroes David Bowie and Talking Heads.
Previous releases by Jess include; The Singing Fish and other Short Stories (Jazzgroove Records), Tinkly Tinkly (Yum Yum Tree / MGM), and The New Dynamites (Dead Set Records / Vitamin)
SUIIX
SUIIX brings together all their favourite bits from post-punk, electronic and psychedelic to mould Sarah's songs into spacey pop jams.
Winner of the 2016 NIDA / Triple J Unearthed Video Competition.
"SUIIX is more of a Heston Blumenthal, deconstructing electronica and putting a much more delicate twist on the brash techno Grimes perfected... a concentrated dose of intelligent dreamwave that masterfully mixes subtlety with epically atmospheric soundscapes." narc magazine
BONNIESONGS
Bonniesongs’s unique style ranges from mandolin-based folk songs with sweet melodies to looping grungy polyrhythms created between guitar, vocals and drums. Her delicate vocal style brings a hush to the audience, telling stories of mice, birds, dinosaurs, death and video games. Bonniesongs’s ethereal qualities beguile you into a dreamlike trance in the style of contemporary folk/alternative artists such as Joanna Newsom and Bjork.
“Her lilting vocals float over gentle peaks of acoustic and electronic instruments, layered ethereally into what may be a moderately enchanted loop pedal.” Caramel Animals
