Event Details

Step into MO'JU’s world for a night of music, story and truth-telling. This Naarm/Melbourne-based multidisciplinary artist crafts a powerful, unique brand of RnB, tackling themes of race, identity, and colonisation with incisive lyricism.

A third gender, third culture powerhouse (Filipino / Wiradjuri), MO'JU resists being pigeon-holed by genre and stands not just as an artist but as a vital voice for change. They’re known for continually exploring new sounds and aspiring to create music that is completely them.

Experience the depth and dynamism of MO'JU's artistry, where music transcends entertainment to become a platform for powerful conversations and collective hope.

Joining them is Zoë Coombs Marr, a performer, writer, and comedian known for her boundary-pushing comedy that weaves intersectional feminism with wisecracks. Having won multiple awards for her shows, including the Melbourne Comedy Festival Award and a prestigious Herald Angel Award in Edinburgh, Zoë brings her sharp wit and insightful commentary to the stage, promising both laughter and reflection.

Supporting the line-up is Dave Woodhead, stand-up comedian, writer, actor and broadcaster. Dave has worked on numerous TV shows including Amazon Prime’s sketch comedy series The Moth Effect, ABC TV’s Get Krackin’ & Preppers various indigenous kids’ series including Thalu & Barrumbi Kid, ABC Comedy’s Fresh Blood pilot Be Your Own Boss & SBS Viceland program The Feed.

It's time to descend the steps of Mary’s Underground and reemerge changed and charged with ideas.
