Beneath the street, rain and passing cars, transcend into the cinematic dream that is the Golden Age as a cutting-edge line-up of bands and progressive musicians set the score to a series of sublimely intimate evenings.

There is something special about witnessing the future of music in an environment that embodies old world charm. Set in the basement of the historic Paramount House, in the lively Hollywood quarter of Surry Hills, Golden Age is an intimate venue like no other. For the past four years, the secret mirrored stage, hidden behind velvet curtains and the dark shadows of the bar, has played host to everyone from the best up-and-coming digital artists to secret acoustic gigs from internationally renowned musicians.

Star-studded luminaries include Jack Ladder, Montaigne, Mick Turner (Dirty Three), Nadia Reid, Body Type, Steve Smyth, Youth Group, Jack Colwell, and a listening party with Sir Elton John. In 2018, Golden Age continues its diverse programming, with sets intended to surprise and inspire. Get to the bar early for an Old Fashioned cocktail, or pair a band worth hearing with a movie worth seeing in the restored 1940s Paramount Pictures screening room. And if you’re late, don’t worry, the past, present and future all blur beautifully together here.
