Inspired by the legendary rave scene and iconic clubs like Berghain, the Sydney dance music collective has transformed the city’s party scene, delivering unforgettable nights at venues that range from sweaty Marrickville warehouses to slick inner-city nightclubs and even Sydney Tower. With an impeccable crew of DJs and an inclusive, communal vibe, House of Mince have been bringing a diverse crowd of ravers for more than a decade.
After a wild birthday celebration in 2023, the beloved queer collective returns to the Sydney Opera House Studio for this year’s Vivid LIVE featuring grooves to the cosmic sound of New York Afro-futurists The Illustrious Blacks.

With their ethereal vocals and otherworldly sound, Monstah Black and Manchildblack – collectively known as The Illustrious Blacks – are a New York duo with roots somewhere in the outer cosmos. Their irresistibly glam cocktail of electro, disco, punk and Afro-futurism embraces everything from future funk to hypnotic house and synth pop.
