Homage to Hollywood: X|Celerate Program

Hollywood Hotel in conjunction with seasoned drag performers of Sydney, presents a "Homage to Hollywood" encompassing a tribute to Sydney identity, Doris Goddard, whilst bringing a Hollywood-esque theme to the show. 

Doris Goddard a long time Sydney identity and owner of Hollywood Hotel has raised the glass ceiling for women in Sydney, leaving Sydney as a young female, she broke into the film industry in England, performed cabaret around the world, returned to Australia and has become one of the oldest female publicans in the State. Over the years she has written and performed her own music and been published. 

Featuring showgirls, Suzie St James & Connie Carter hosting a variety of cabaret, comedy, impersonations and an array of special guest. Culminating in a special finale featuring the iconic legend, Carlotta.

In addition, the Hollywood have partnered with local design, animation and visual effects house and fellow Surry Hills based business, Heckler to produce a state-of-the-art projection show called Iconicity.

Heckler’s light show will begin by celebrating the owner of the Hollywood Hotel, Doris Goddard, alongside images of 50 iconic, influential women by renowned British photographer Terry O’Neill.

In week two the work of Reg Mombassa known for his famous Mambo designs, will feature for Ironically Australian.

In week three Cultural Icons will feature designs from Heckler’s executive creative director Luca Ionescu, who’s renowned for his logo and bespoke typography.
