Retro Games: When We Were Kids…
WESTFIELD SYDNEY

This year, Westfield Sydney returns with one of the largest visual installations the centre has presented. Following the theme of “When we were kids…” Westfield Sydney will be transforming into a playground of lights with activations based around classic childhood games tailored to trigger the minds and memories of all ages. With activations ranging from life sized installations of Snakes and Ladders and Barrels of Monkeys to an interactive giant bag of marbles; Westfield Sydney is the perfect destination for the whole family to enjoy during Vivid Sydney.

Westfield Sydney Food Retailers and Restaurants will be extending their trading hours till 9pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday as well as offering a host of exclusive offers to celebrate Vivd Sydney.

Some of the free visual activations in Westfield Sydney include:  

SNAKES AND LADDERS
Levels 2,3 and 4 will be transformed into a visual spectacle and come to life with a giant replica of the childhood board game ‘Snakes and Ladders’, comprising glow in the dark snakes slithering between each level.

LARGER THAN LIFE TOY BOX
Visit our gigantic toy box that contains generational favourites to delight both the young and old. Peep inside to be treated to a visual feast for the eyes with moving yo-yos, monopoly, dancing ballerinas and roller skates atop a treadmill in motion.

GLOWING BARREL OF MONKEYS
The visual displays will extend into the food court this year with a modern take on the childhood classic, ‘Barrel of Monkey’s. Over 80 fluorescent monkeys will emerge from a giant glowing barrel and extend above the escalators upwards into Level 6 creating a radiant overhead rainbow of lights to gaze up at.

DRESS UP CARNIVAL PHOTO WALL
Reconnect with your inner child and visit our carnival themed photo wall. Position your face into one of the openings, snap a picture and enjoy the hilarity of momentarily transforming into a peculiar carnival character.

STILT WALKERS AND HULA HOOP PERFORMERS
The visual entertainment extends outside this year with extravagant stilt walkers and hula hoop performers moving effortlessly and gracefully up and down Pitt Street Mall. Prepare to be amazed as our ‘Birds of Paradise’ stilt walkers transform into flamboyant creatures providing the perfect photo opportunity or watch on as hula hoop performers add to the spectacle, sure to mesmerise all ages.
Date: Each Friday and Saturday evening of Vivid Sydney.
