GOOD DESIGN AWARDS CEREMONY AND AFTER PARTY

The Good Design Awards Ceremony will celebrate and recognise the winners of the 2017 Good Design Awards. This exclusive black-tie event is a highlight on the international design calendar, attracting Australian and international design luminaries, industry thought leaders, social, political and cultural dignitaries and mainstream media.

Don’t miss out on the Official After Party, which promises to be the most talked about night in the industry. Held on the doorstep of Sydney Harbour, guests will enjoy the best views in Sydney to experience the world famous Vivid Sydney light show, network with colleagues and clients, absorb the party atmosphere and drink the night away.

GOOD DESIGN SHOWCASE EXHIBITION

3:30pm - 9:30pm DAILY // Friday 9th to Sunday 11th June (free event)

The showcase will feature the winners of the annual Good Design Awards, showcasing the best of the design spectrum through achitectural design, product design, automotive design, digital design, communication design and design for social good. Come and explore the latest cars, best furniture, lighting, electronics, gadgets, apps and software available on the market! 

New for 2017 the Good Design Showcase Exhibition will feature the Good Design Bar sponsored by Young Henrys and Signor Vino. Come and join us for a drink and enjoy the exhibition overlooking Sydney Harbour and the Vivid lights. 

The showcase will also host the Good Design Exchange, where the creators of the award-winning products on display will give guests an insight into their process and production.

GOOD DESIGN EXCHANGE

The Good Design Exchange features Australian and international thought leaders who will share their inspiring stories about design.

Proudly presented by Good Design Australia in partnership with General Assembly, the Authentic Design Alliance and Factory Design District, the Good Design Exchange provides a unique opportunity to to connect with the design community and learn from some of the best in the business. Tickets to the Good Design Exchange are free, however booking is essential as seats are limited.

PART 1: F**k Up Nights,  6:00pm - 8:00pm // Friday 9 June

Five award-winning designers will share the failures behind their success. Hear the often untold stories of failure and f**k ups and how this is an inventible part of the design process! Each speaker will focus on their biggest failures and what they took from the experience to build success. This event is a storytelling event where each speaker will dive into the nitty gritty about design explorations, failures and how these have shaped our perspectives of design today.

PART 2: Sketch. Prototype. Product.,  4:00pm - 6:30pm // Saturday 10 June

What is the design process? How does a concept for a chair, table, sofa or floor light become a commercially available product? How much do we understand about the design process and the role of product designers in creating the everyday objects we live with? Join us to hear award-winning designers unmask the ‘design process’.
