Technology is advancing rapidly and influencing our lives at an unprecedented rate. The iPhone was unveiled more than 10 years ago and today around 81 per cent of Australians own a smartphone. It’s hard to imagine life without one.
Over the same period, we’ve seen the rise of self-driving cars, people selling houses with bitcoin and the ascendancy of peer-to-peer sharing platforms like Airbnb, Amazon and Uber. So, what will our world look like in 2028? Have the last 10 years just been a warm-up act for all the advanced sensory systems, machine learning and artificial intelligence technologies on the horizon?
Join Dr Stefan Hajkowicz, principal scientist at CSIRO’s Data61 in the field of strategic foresight, to explore digital megatrends that are reshaping the world. From artificial intelligence and robots through to cybersecurity and privacy concerns, these driving forces of change are fuelled by technological advances. Stefan will share a glimpse of what’s in store for us over the next decade and what we need to know as digital citizens to navigate our future.
Data61 is the data science and technology arm of the CSIRO, Australia’s national science agency.
