Data Futures is a live experiment about the connection between our data and ourselves. In a large, real-time visualisation, friendly hosts will guide you through a series of questions: some innocuous, some less so. All you need is your smartphone to participate. Responses are visualised on the big screen, in real-time. As the questions ensue, you’ll be surprised to see a picture of audience sentiment emerge and change. The more we are put in the spotlight, the more we are likely to understand about the people around us.
This talk and live experiment explores the increasing access we give to our personal data. Who owns our data? What are the ethics of data access and use?
Data Futures brings the original concept by Dominikus Baur and Daniel Goddemeyer to Sydney for the first time. Data Futures: Sydney is presented by Andrea Lau of Small Multiples.
