Wake in Fright 1971
This thriller starring Donald Pleasance, Chips Rafferty, Jack Thompson, John Meillon and Gary Bond is considered by many to be the greatest Australian film of all time. Spawned from Kenneth Cook’s classic novel of the same name, and is now being “re-imagined for a new generation” with a highly anticipated two-part remake due to be released this year on Channel 10.
The film tells the story of a young schoolteacher from Sydney who descends into personal moral degradation after finding himself stranded in a brutal, menacing town in outback Australia
