Event Details

What does "normal" actually mean? Its interpretation is fluid, and what was once thought to be futuristic and experimental could become a part of our New Normal very soon. This free activation is your front row seat to the ideas that are shaping the not-too-distant future.

Part-gallery, part-pavillion, part meeting place, this future-prototype hub at the heart of the Vivid Sydney action - adjacent to the Fire Kitchen at the Goods Line - provides an invitation to experience what a self-sufficient Sydney can be like.

Experience first-hand how concepts like circularity, zero waste, renewable energy, low emission transport, net zero and unlimited water are being translated into practical projects that might just find a home in your neighbourhood, home, garage or even local shopping centre soon rather than later.

Kids (and kids at heart) will marvel at how 'waste' products can be fed to robots to create everyday items, discover what a 'forever car' might look like, feel and hear the sounds of a rewilded city and celebrate a Vivid Sydney activation powered entirely by sunshine. The future is now.
