An affecting, intimate power' – NME'
Leading a new guard of antipodean folk championed around the world, New Zealand songwriter Hollie Fullbrook brings her band Tiny Ruins to Vivid LIVE for a beautiful preview of her third album.
Signed to a holy trinity of influential labels in Bella Union (UK), Flying Nun (NZ) and Spunk (AUS), Tiny Ruins has drawn praise from the New York Times and collaborated with cultural heavyweights David Lynch & toured with Neil Finn, Sharon van Etten & Calexico. Applying a timeless sense of song writing to a palette of experimental blues and country soul, Fullbrook's searching spirit has seen her live and record in Bristol, Barcelona, South Gippsland and her current home in Auckland.
Settling in with a long-term lineup featuring Cass Basil (bass), Alex Freer (drums) and Tom Healy (electric guitar), a band she has toured internationally with for the last three years - 'Tiny Ruins will return to Sydney with new songs and selections from Some Were Meant For Sea and Brightly Painted One – charming and breaking hearts in equal measure at Vivid LIVE.
