Bakoomba have also been invited to support international acts such as Maxi Priest and Katchafire.

Get ready for a hard driving rhythm section, slick horns, sassy female vocals and some seriously hot, traditional African percussion. Come and feel the fire and experience the interactive stage show that is Bakoomba - Guaranteed to ignite any dance floor - Vibrant, infectious and energetic.......

"Bakoomba opened for King Tide at The Small Ball Room in Newcastle and lit the room up with a powerful, vitally dynamic sound. The fusion and mix of genre was achieved with grace and respect to the diverse mix of styles that the band dips into. All this was achieved with finesse and consummate musicianship - giving their all and by doing so, creating an engrossing and entertaining show but above all they were a pleasure to have opened for us being a truly professional outfit." Tony Hughes - representing King Tide

"Bakoomba is VA VA VA VOOMBA !!!! An energetic, colourful and culturally spectacular show that had our audience moving, grooving and smiling through the whole show!!" Brian Lizotte - Lizottes Newcastle

Bakoomba are proud to have a very special guest joining us at The Basement - International artist "Epizo Bangoura" - One of West Africa's leading musicians, Epizo receives critical acclaim for his clever mastery of rhythm and rare dexterity, playing not only the traditional Djembe but also Balafon (African xylophone), Kora (African Harp), Goni (African Guitar) and boundless energy as a traditional dancer.

Born into a family of Griots – musicians and storytellers, keepers of their ancestral traditions and customs, Epizo immortalizes his culture through his songs, music and dance.
