Event Details

The music of Sydney trio Roadhouses is a hazy fever dream. The band was formed in late 2014 when guitarist and songwriter Yvonne Moxham joined drummer Cec Condon (The Mess Hall) to play a one-off show. They met again in Brooklyn a few months later and put those songs to tape. Recorded in just three days in Nicolas Vernhes’ (The War on Drugs, Deerhunter) Rare Book Room studio, the album was a melancholic audio snapshot of Yvonne’s time spent between LA and Sydney. On their return to Australia, James Bellesini joined on bass player to complete the line-up.

These are songs of exorcism and empathy, of creation and dissolution, of endurance. In this age of instant gratification, experiencing a Roadhouses performance will slow your heartbeat as you are immersed in their bruised romanticism.

Venue closes at 12AM
