One of the most influential figures in hip hop culture, musician, actor and activist Yasiin Bey (FKA Mos Def) heads to Carriageworks for a two-night exploration of his back catalogue and artistic influences on Wednesday 12 and Thursday 13 June as part of the Vivid Music program.

On night one, for the first time in Australia, Yasiin Bey will pay tribute to the late, great MC MF DOOM. MF DOOM was a highly influential and enigmatic figure in the world of hip-hop. Emerging from the underground scene in the late 1990s, he became renowned for his intricate rhymes, distinctive flow, and masked persona. Yasiin Bey has always admired the rhymes of Viktor Vaughan, AKA The Villain, King Gheedorah or simply DOOM. This is his tribute to his favourite songs from the catalogue.

Often described as one of the greatest rappers of all time, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to see the hip hop great perform the heavily lyrical and unapologetically Black music that shaped his career.
